Why Does The Devil Always Seem to Have The Upper Hand In My Life?

Divine favor and grace has helped men and woman all throughout the centuries to conquer the things that have hindered them in life.    In this life there is the Kingdom of Light, and the Kingdom of Darkness.  The Bible says that Jesus came to draw men to the light, but men loved the darkness.  There are dark spiritual forces in this world that keep men and women, even whole nations in darkness.    When darkness engulfs a nation, that nation is going to have violence, drugs, poverty, and bitter hard hearted people.  The book of Ephesians say that our warfare is not with flesh and blood.  The word warfare implies a battle.  And this chapter in Ephesians goes on to say that we are to put on an armor.  We have an enemy, the spiritually wicked principalities, we have a warfare and God wants us to put on an armor.  Sounds like God is expecting us to fight!

Ephesians 6
10Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
11Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
12For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in heavenly places.

I want to ask you how much time each day do you spend fighting the good fight?  How much time do you spend training for the fight?  If you chose not to war against the principalities of darkness, and you chose not to put on the armor than I promise you that your life is over run by the enemy.  What does the enemy bring?  Well, he brings darkness.  Darkness is a lack of understanding, a lack of rhema word in your life, a lack of revelation.  You will be in confusion and say "I just don't understand..."    What else does the enemy bring?  Depression, Anxiety, Fears  a lack of peace and rest.  You will find yourself with heavy burdens, and a lack of peace and a lack of joy.   The reason you have to fight the enemy is because he comes to kill, steal and destroy.  If you do not put on the armor of God and fight you will suffer losses, your circumstances will all seem to be dead end, no life situations, the enemy will destroy you one day at a time.   If you don't spend time everyday waging warfare against the enemy, than the Devil will have the upper hand in your life.

We are so busy with the carnal things.  Instead of fighting in the Spirit and overcoming the evil principalities of this age.  We spend out time fighting traffic, fighting with our hair, fighting with our family, fighting with our check book, fighting with ourselves...we are so busy fighting the carnal issues that we neglect the spiritual battle that is raging all around us.

Have you ever stopped to think that if you waged war against the enemy of your soul in the spirit realm that maybe you could stop him from STEALING from you, and then you wouldn't have that fight with your check book.

Have you ever stopped to think that if you waged war against the enemy of your soul in the spirit realm that maybe you could stop that spirit of strife and division and then you would be fighting all the time with your family.

Have you ever stopped to think that if you waged war against the enemy of your soul in the spirit realm that maybe you could break that spirit of pride off of your life and you wouldn't worry about your outward appearance nearly as much.

Have you ever stopped to think that if you got your priorities in order, than your heart wouldn't condemn you and you could stop beating yourself up so much and come out from under that load of guilt and condemnation that you carry.

After we put on the armor it says PRAYING always...our battle is done in prayer.  You have more than just carnal needs to pray about.  You are in a battle with the enemy, because even if you don't fight or put on your armor, the enemy is coming to steal, kill and destroy you.  Some of us have the habit of just rolling over and dying and letting the enemy run over us like a steam roller.  We think that getting stolen from, and killed and destroyed is just a part of life.

NO, there is a better life.  Jesus said, "I have come to give you life, and it more abundantly!"

John 10:10
The thief comes not, but to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
