The Key To Your Miracle

If you want to impact your life with the supernatural power of God to shatter the enemies strong holds you are going to have to live a life that goes above and beyond common sense.  Did common sense motivate Joshua to march around the walls of Jericho?   Did common sense motivate Jesus to die for us on the cross?  Did common sense lead Abraham to give a tithe to Melchisedeck?  Was it common sense that lead Peter to continue to preach in the name of Jesus after he was beaten and warned to never speak in that name again?     These actions did not spring up out of common sense but rather out of faith.  There are times when God's instructions to us don't seem to make any sense at all.  For instance, how is it that I can give a tithe to God, and yet my money stretches farther than if I kept the money for myself?  That doesn't make sense, and yet it has been proven to be true time and time again.

Does God expect us to use common sense?  Yes. He does expect us to use common sense, but look at this word 'common'  we call it common sense because that is what it is...average, common, something that all men should have, not extra-ordinary, it is just plain old 'common sense.'   Sadly, there are many people that don't even have common sense.   They are below average when it comes to sense.  My momma used to say, "They don't have sense that God gave a goose."   When we do destructive things to our body, mind, soul and spirit we don't even have average or common sense.

But while common sense may keep you out of prison, it will not be enough to allow you to walk in the super natural power of God.   Common sense may keep you from being really poor or sick, but it will not be enough to help you start a multi-million dollar industry.

Common sense is not the only kind of sense in the world.  Besides common sense, there is business sense,  sports sense, technology sense, mechanic sense...for just about anything this life has to offer there is a sense that goes with that area of expertise.  And there is Godly wisdom which is BIBLE SENSE.    Bible sense often goes against common sense.  For instance, the Bible says it is more blessed to give than to receive.   But common sense often makes us want to hang on to what we got instead of freely giving.

Common sense does not like to take a risk, but it was risky for Abraham to set out on a journey to find a land that God promised to him.   Common sense doesn't like unknown variables but Noah had no idea how God was going to cover the earth with water, it had never rained before, and he built a boat in spite of his lack of understanding.   Common sense doesn't like odds that are stacked against it, but Gideon had odds stacked against  him that were out of this world, yet, God brought complete deliverance to him.  Common sense comes out of logic and reasoning, while Bible sense springs up out of love and faith in God's Commandments.

There are those who have said, "Lord, help my faith to grow, I want to see a miracle, I need a miracle."  To see a miracle you are going to have to go beyond common sense over to BIBLE sense and trust God at His Word.  Often his commands don't make any common sense at all and if God doesn't deliver as promised it is like you are out on a limb, and it is all or nothing.   Common sense is just what it says, it is common.   You must rise above a common life and live a life of adventure and excitement as God pushes you out to the edge of your faith and leaves you hanging there.   When you are standing on nothing but God's Word alone and if He doesn't come through,  then all is lost, this is where you will see your miracle.   Daniel didn't see the lion's mouth shut until after he was thrown to the lion.   David didn't see the giant fall until after he challenged him.  Moses didn't see his people delivered until after he confronted Pharaoh.     Jesus didn't see the blind man healed until after he spit and made some mud and put it in his eyes.  The lepers didn't get healed until they were on their way to see the priest. Go beyond what is 'common' and live a life of faith in God!
