God is our Sheild and Our Reward

Gen 15:15 After these things the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision, saying, “Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your exceedingly great reward

We face a lot of situations that are bigger than us, but we have never faced anything bigger than God. With God all things are possible, without Him there is no hope.

2 Timothy 1:7
For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

The most repeated command in scripture is fear not or don't fear. The problem is that this world is be a scary place when looked at from natural eyes.

Abram was not promised that nothing bad would happen, but that God was their as a protector.

Jesus told us that in this world we would have trouble, then He told us to be of good cheer because he had overcome the world.

As children of God we also have the promise of Abram.

The Great I Am is with us.
1.  As a shield. Nothing gets past God, He himself stands before us as a shield. By trusting in God we have this assurance, IF GOD BE FOR US WHO CAN BE AGAINST US!

2.  As our exceedingly great reward. God has not promised us a bunch of stuff, He has promised us Himself
The creator of all things has sent His word to us in the person of His son JESUS. And all who call on the name of The Lord shall be saved.

The next time the world seems too scary, when it seems like you are pressed in on all sides, call on The Lord. Remember His promise, and The Lord himself will be your help.
